Inspired by Design

Renowned for its hospitality-influenced, designer approach to coworking environments — crafted to appeal to sophisticated creatives,  entrepreneurs and the ‘grown-up start-up’ — The Great Room Ngee Ann City features interiors by Michael Fiebrich Design, a leading interior architecture firm that has created magical environments for clients including Four Seasons Hotels, Regent Hotels, Marina Bay Sands and Nobu Restaurants. “We wanted someone who brings a sense of adventure and delight into the spaces that they design,” The Great Room CEO Jaelle Ang said of the thinking behind selecting Mr. Fiebrich for the task.

Ms Ang says the location, amidst the glamorous luxury boutiques that line Orchard Road, drove the new space’s aesthetic. “Many global consumer brands, design and fashion groups have their offices in the Orchard Road precinct. This is the perfect location for us to take some design risks — after all, we expect our members here to be fiercely glamorous and bold. Interiors used to inspire fashion, but now fashion is also informing interiors — that’s reflected in the juxtaposition of raw and refined materials: cool marbles, gleaming metallic surfaces and rich timbres,” she remarked. “That being said, we were careful to ensure that the design of the space is low-key enough to serve as a backdrop for brands to bring in their own spirited identity and colours, and truly make the space their own.”

Bringing new life to the Orchard Road area, The Great Room will be collaborating with like-minded brands from the surrounding retail scene — such as Tiffany & Co., with whom we’re co-hosting an exclusive marketing- focused “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” fireside chat on 11 May. Discussions to hold all manner of added value community building, lifestyle and wellness events are in place, ensuring our members feel as good as the space looks.
